14 Do not neglect
the gift you have
18 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare[b] and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
Have you ever met that person who seems to have it all figured out? You know the one I’m talking about. That person who knew where and for what they were going to go to school for since they were around two years old. They also knew they would marry their high school sweetheart, and even knew how many kids they would have ( one boy and one girl). So maybe I’m exaggerating a little (maybe a lot).
The flip side of this is where I, and I suspect many others, spend most of our time. It’s the place of constant frustration due to indecisiveness. For me it’s been the fear of making a wrong decision that has kept me going back and forth on a decision so long that it feels as if I will never make any progress. Thankfully I can look to the scriptures and find hope. And if you find yourself in as similar situation, you can as well.
Be encouraged! God not only has a Plan for you, He is also in charge of seeing it through.
Scriptures tell me that God created me with gifts that He wants me to use (1 Timothy 4). They also tell me that He has plans for me (Jeremiah 29). So knowing this I can take a breath of relief because I can trust that as long as I am seeking His purposes He won’t let my indecisiveness get in the way and that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Rom. 8:28). Be encouraged! God not only has a Plan for you, He is also in charge of seeing it through.
