There always seems like there is something to do. You might even be overwhelmed with all that you have to do.
So what do you have to do?
Well, the reality is that you don’t have to do anything. There are people who choose not to do anything. Obviously, there are many consequences that come with that choice.
I think a better way of thinking is that you get to.
You don’t have to go to work, play with your kids, go to college, exercise, or pursue a growing relationship with God.
I think this is important to know because when we feel like we have to do something we end up making decisions or following through with things that may be or not be right for us.
Instead, you get to choose a career that allows you to provide for yourself and your family. You get to get spend time with your family. You get to get an education that allows you to learn people, places, and things. You get to pursue God and build a relationship with your heavenly father.
Don’t let your mind drift into the wastelands of “have to” but instead redirect it to the green pastures of “get to”.
It’s not that you have to but you get to.
