One Lie You Might Believe When Life Is Hard
I think we could all agree that life is hard sometimes.
Many might say life has been really, really hard.
Many of us have been through things that, although unpleasant, have played a big part in making us who we are today.
So is it okay to not be okay with the process?
I think so.
I think it’s actually biblical.
Joy in the Outcome not the Process
Luke gives us a glimpse into Jesus struggle before He is going to be crucified in Luke 22:42, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
Jesus knows the outcome and He is willing to do whatever it takes to please His father and bring about the results of this decision. But He still asks for another way if possible.

There is a purpose in your pain. There is a purpose for what you have been through. God is doing so much in your life through those difficult moments and valleys that he could probably never do through the mountain tops and comfortable areas.
I want you to know that it’s okay if you would have rather not gone through that horrible experience. You don’t have to love the process even if you love the outcome.I think this is important because otherwise, we can glance over the event without mourning or dealing with the pain that comes with these experiences.
I think this is important because otherwise, we can glance over that painful event without mourning or dealing with the pain that it brings. Sometimes it’s not until you internalize the experience that you can learn and grow and move past it.
Don’t waste your pain
In Romans 8:28 Paul tells us that, “ we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Don’t waste your pain. People need to see that your hope is in King Jesus.

Take time to think, talk and Seek God through prayer about what good can come out of what you went through or are currently going through. If there is purpose in your pain you need to know what it is.
- What sin is God chipping away?
- What quality is He trying to instill?
- Where is He trying to grow my Faith?
- What idols is He trying to tear down?
Whether I like it or not, I am learning that God is always trying to do something in me through what is happening outside of me. And if I’m not careful, I can miss out on what He is doing if I focus too much on my outer circumstances instead of the inner edification.
Make a decision today to not let your circumstances keep you from to joy that God has prepared for you.
- Where do you see God working in your life?
- What are the circumstances He is using to do this?
- How are you responding?
