Black Hole

Ever fell into a black hole? You probably have and don’t know it.

Here is an informal definition I found.

blackhole: a place where people or things, especially money, disappear without trace.
The black hole I have in mind is any kind of social – facebook, twitter, Instagram, snapchat, LinkedIn, etc.
Just think of the last time you sat down to do something. Read a book, research something for work, email a friend, check your bank account balance, and before you know it you’re on your favorite social platform and thirty minutes have disappeared without a trace. Where did those thirty minutes go? Nobody knows.
Don’t get me wrong, I like my socials just as much as the next person. And it might seem a little hypocritical or contradictory to be posting this on a social platform. But when I need to get something done or have a limited amount of time, the last thing I want to do is wake up from a social comma. Time is too precious to not even be able to account for where we spent it.
Maybe you’ve dealt with this and found some good hacks or solutions? If so share them in the comments. I love to see what they are and maybe someone else can benefit from them as well.
