Don’t settle for a ticket into heaven mentality of salvation. Choose Father son/daughter relationship instead.

Salvation is Just the beginning

Surrendering to Christ and accepting His payment for your sin is an amazing moment in every Christian’s life.

It’s the moment the Holy Spirit reveals to us who Jesus is, what He did for us, why we need it and how to receive it. We become a new creation in that moment (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We are born again (John 3:1-21).

But we typically don’t live that way. Or maybe have misunderstood what it means.

It’s about a relationship

Many people after that amazing transaction move on with their life with a confidence that one day they will get to heaven but that’s about it.

But we’ve been born again. You are a brand spanking new baby Christian with a new family (Ephesians 1:5).

You have a lot of growing to do, God is not an absent father and Jesus is not an absent big brother.

Living with the mentality that your salvation is simply a ticket to heaven won’t cut it. That is not what God meant it to be. He is a relational God.

Instead, He wants to walk with you, teach you, provide for you, correct you when you’re wrong, love you in your failures and your successes because He is a good father – He is your father.

Don’t settle for a ticket into heaven mentality of salvation. Choose Father son/daughter relationship instead.

Salvation is not the end it’s the beginning of the most beautiful relationship you will ever have. Your soul has found its place of belonging. There’s a journey of infinite discovery and pursuit of God.

Romans 11:33  (NIV)
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
    How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
